Can you screen print on a polo shirt?

Yes! Customise our wholesale polo shirts using our polo shirt printing service. Our cotton or polycotton blends work best for screen-printed polo shirts. However, the pique knit texture may have a slightly uneven or textured finish. So, if you want a smoother result, look at our personalised T-shirt collection and printing service.

Printed polo shirts usually feature a small printed logo on the left chest, reserving larger designs for the back as the button placket would potentially get in the way of larger designs.

Is it better to embroider or print on polo shirts?

If you're unsure whether to opt for printed polo shirts or embroidered polo shirts with embroidery, here's how to choose between the two:

Embroidered polo shirts: pros and cons

Polo shirts are great for work or school uniforms due to their durability, smart look and comfortable feel. That's why they are fantastic for embroidered logos, which help create a high-end, polished appearance for corporate or school branding. Embroidery can also withstand frequent washing without wear or fading, adding to the garment's durability. Our embroidery service is perfect for small designs like logos on the left chest or sleeves.

Embroidery does cost more, especially if you want larger or more complex designs. It's not suitable for detailed work or ones with gradients.

Polo shirt printing: pros and cons

One of the main benefits of choosing printed polo T-shirts is that they are more cost-effective than embroidery, especially when you bulk order in large quantities. Polo shirt printing can handle intricate designs and gradients better than embroidery; it's also better if you want a large design.

Before you decide, remember that printed polo T-shirts may fade or crack over time, especially with frequent washing and may not yield a perfectly smooth print due to the pique knit texture.
